Piece of my HOME...

MY DINING ROOM ... Why I like it? It feels like California! Very laid back, free flowing and not stuffy... This may not be your style but know that this room came to about $200.00 total at the most!

Flea markets hold the key to my heart, so does a can of spray paint, the fabric store, fresh flowers and LIVING PLANTS! My pet peeve in life are fake plants (sorry mom)! Add a palm tree and the latest Buddha Bar CD and you are on way to relaxation!

Oh and how could I forget CANDLES!!! Put them everywhere people, PLEASE!!! Screw the lamp and light a candle! Think about it looks absolutely divine and it's eco friendly!

Side note: I desperately wanted to paint this room but being a rental I could not be bothered! I wanted to paint it black!!! The decor that you see would have changed completely if the walls had been black... but under the circumstance I am pleased with the out come! Easy for when I move out and visually pleasing while I stay!

I used a framed vintage map of England as my main piece of art, and an old floral painted table as nice place to show vintage crystal decanters, given to me by my great grandmother. Old books stacked in 2, to be a pedestal for a candle! Family photos make a dining room an intimate and welcoming place for guest to be apart of while in your home. A palm in wicker plant basket adds a nice energy and great oxygen flow to any room!

One of my most favorite things in the room is the dining table and chairs that were purchased for a whopping $60.00 TOTAL! It needed a lil elbow grease and lots of TLC but was definitely worth it in my opinion. I used a gray blue burlap fabric on the seat cover and a twist wrap cording around the edge, brushed silver nail heads for custom look, and tassels on the back of the chair to make it "eye candy" from all views!

I will post some close up images of the furniture, so you can get a good look at how fabulous it actually is!

xoxo

Thats all for now!
